Swoop

Privacy Policy

Applies to Swoop for Mac (direct download and Mac App Store). Last updated October 22, 2026.

The short version

Swoop does not collect personal data, does not use analytics, and does not track you. It has no account system. Everything it stores (your pinned apps, your settings) stays on your Mac.

Network requests Swoop makes

That is the complete list. Swoop does not contact any other server.

Crash reports (off by default)

Swoop contains an optional crash reporter that is disabled unless you turn it on in Settings › Privacy. If you enable it, crash reports are sent to Sentry and contain technical details about the crash (app version, macOS version, the point in the code where it failed). They never include your license key, email, file names, or window contents. You can turn it off again at any time.

Report a Bug

The "Report a Bug…" feature composes an email in your own mail app. You see the full message, including any diagnostics, before anything is sent, and nothing is sent unless you send it yourself.

Permissions

Swoop does not request Accessibility, Input Monitoring, Screen Recording, or any other system permission. It only observes the modifier keys needed to open the ring, through the same public API every Mac app uses.

Data stored on your Mac

Your pinned apps and preferences are stored in Swoop's own sandboxed container. Your license key (direct version) is stored in the macOS Keychain. Removing the app removes this data.

Children

Swoop is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
